Baghdad, The head of the National Wisdom Movement, Ammar al-Hakim, renewed, today, Tuesday, his support for the visit of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani to Washington. Al-Hakim said in a statement: 'We met this morning with the new Australian ambassador to Baghdad, Glen Mills, and expressed our wishes for success in heading his country's diplomatic mission in Iraq. We also exchanged views on developing relations between Iraq and Australia, and we welcomed the desire of Australian companies to enter Iraq and benefit from the promised opportunities that Iraq offers in many fields." He added: "We renewed our support for the Prime Minister's visit to Washington and expressed our hope that the visit will achieve the desired results, while we stressed the importance of Iraq's stability for the security, stability and safety of the region." He continued: 'We also renewed the call for a ceasefire in Gaza, and the necessity of providing relief to the displaced, bringing in aid, and rebuilding the city, and we called on the international community to end the state of double standards in dealing with the tragic and disastrous reality in Gaza.'
