Arab League Denounces Israeli Ministers’ Remarks on Gaza Displacement

Doha: The League of Arab States has strongly condemned the statements made by two ministers in the Israeli occupation government regarding the displacement of Palestinian people from the Gaza Strip.

According to Qatar News Agency, Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy asserted that these statements pose a significant challenge to international efforts aimed at achieving peace and resolving the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip. He highlighted that the humanitarian suffering endured by Gaza's residents is exacerbated by Israel's unilateral and escalating policies.

Fahmy emphasized that any talk of displacing the Palestinian populace is entirely unacceptable. He categorically stated that such statements, along with any plans or measures undermining the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, constitute a blatant violation of international law and humanitarian principles.

The Secretary-General also noted that issuing such statements amidst the ongoing suffering in Gaza, coupled with Israel's non-responsiveness to peace initiatives, represents a deliberate strategy by the occupying power to complicate the situation. This, he warned, jeopardizes regional security and stability while diverting attention from the core issues hindering peace efforts.

Reaffirming the League of Arab States' support for the Palestinian people's resilience, Fahmy underscored that discussions concerning the Gaza Strip are intrinsically linked to the broader goal of establishing an independent Palestinian state within the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, as per international resolutions.

Fahmy cautioned against the perilous implications of such statements for regional peace and stability, viewing them as part of Israel's continued escalation, which threatens to ignite further instability for electoral gains. He urged the international community and its institutions to confront these statements, emphasizing the need to prevent any actions that could alter the status quo and undermine Palestinian rights.
