Baghdad Operations Command forces carried out a preemptive operation and arrested 5 suspects according to various legal articles south of the capital. The Command statement stated that within the plans drawn up to enhance security and stability in the vicinity of the capital, units of the 17th Infantry Division and the security units and agencies attached to it carried out search, inspection and armed reconnaissance operations in villages, countryside and orchards in areas south of the capital, resulting in the arrest of 5 suspects according to various legal articles. It explained that these operations aim to tighten the noose on the remaining defeated terrorist elements and outlaws and prevent anyone who dares to tamper with the security and safety of citizens.
