Doha: Borussia Dortmund defeated Eintracht Frankfurt 3-2 Friday in the opening match of the 33rd round of the Bundesliga. According to Qatar News Agency, goals from Serhou Guirassy, Nico Schlotterbeck, and Samuele Inacio secured the win for Dortmund. This victory helped them secure second place with 72 points behind champions Bayern Munich, while also guaranteeing qualification for next season's UEFA Champions League. Meanwhile, Frankfurt remained on 43 points in eighth place, putting their hopes of qualifying for next season's UEFA Europa Conference League in jeopardy. They trail seventh-placed SC Freiburg by one point, although Freiburg still has a game in hand. Freiburg has another shot at qualification for the UEFA Champions League if they beat Aston Villa in the final of the Europa League.
