Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein announced that a meeting will soon be held in Baghdad, including Syrian and Turkish officials, to discuss the Syrian crisis. The official Agency quoted the Foreign Minister as saying in a television statement from Washington: 'There is an initiative from Iraq to mediate between Ankara and Damascus, and communication is continuing in this field,' and that 'he met with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Washington in order to arrange a meeting in Baghdad with the Syrian side.' He added: 'There is also ongoing communication by Iraq with the Syrian side, and a date will be set to hold this meeting in Baghdad. Source: National Iraqi News Agency
