Doha: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jassim Mohammed AlBudaiwi strongly condemned and denounced the Israeli airstrikes targeting Abu Al-Duhur Military Airport in Syria's Idlib Governorate.
According to Qatar News Agency, AlBudaiwi affirmed that the Israeli attacks on Syrian territory constitute an unacceptable violation of Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity and contravene international rules and norms prohibiting violations of state sovereignty. He warned that the continuation of such actions would heighten tensions and lead to escalation, undermining regional and international efforts to achieve security and stability in the region.
AlBudaiwi called on the international community to assume its responsibilities, take a firm stance against these violations, and work to halt Israeli attacks on Syrian territory in a manner that safeguards Syria's security and stability. He also reiterated the GCC states' solidarity with Syria and their support for its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
