Jerusalem: The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) expressed its deep concern over the recent actions of the Israeli occupation forces, who stormed the Qalandiya Training Centre in Jerusalem.

According to Qatar News Agency, UNRWA conveyed its strong disapproval of the Israeli forces' actions, highlighting that the entry was conducted without the agency's permission. The intrusion involved more than 50 security personnel and at least four armored vehicles.

The agency emphasized that the Qalandiya Training Centre is a UN-operated facility, protected under international law. The UNRWA statement reiterated the need to respect the inviolability of such facilities, which are safeguarded by the privileges and immunities granted to the UN.

The center has been a key vocational training facility for Palestinian refugees for over seventy years, contributing significantly to the regional and global labor markets. Thousands of graduates from the center have gone on to make substantial contributions in various fields.

UNRWA affirmed its commitment to safeguarding its buildings, staff, and operations, insisting on the respect of UN privileges under international law. The agency urged the international community to take immediate and decisive action to protect this and other UN facilities in occupied East Jerusalem.
