Doha: Lebanese President, Joseph Aoun said that his country's stability is essential to the stability of Europe, warning that instability in Lebanon would have wider regional repercussions. This came during a summit that took place in Athens on Monday, bringing the Lebanese President together with his Greek counterpart, Constantine Tassoulas.

According to Qatar News Agency, President Aoun emphasized Lebanon's dedication to peace and its determination to end hostilities with Israel, advocating for diplomacy over military force. He highlighted Lebanon's tumultuous history of conflicts and expressed the nation's desire for lasting peace. Aoun stressed the importance of cooperation in implementing the framework agreement between Lebanon and Israel, which was brokered with US sponsorship, and called on Greece to assist in ensuring the agreement's full and unbiased execution.

During his visit, Aoun also met with Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis. The Greek leader announced the intention to enhance the bilateral relations between Lebanon and Greece, aiming for a strategic partnership. Mitsotakis reiterated Greece's support for Lebanon's sovereignty, independence, and unity, and pledged continued support for the Lebanese Army and reconstruction efforts.
