HE Minister of State for International Cooperation Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater met today with HE Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) Philippe Lazzarini, on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. The meeting dealt with discussing cooperation relations between the State of Qatar and UNRWA, and ways to support and enhance them. It also dealt with the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, and the importance of the Agency's pivotal role in supporting the Palestinian people. During the meeting, HE Minister of State for International Cooperation affirmed the State of Qatars continued support for the agency, based on its belief that it is one of the most important institutions that can provide the minimum needs of the Palestinian people, especially in the Gaza Strip, and that its role will be indispensable after the war on the Strip stops, especially in the areas of education a nd basic services.
