Islamabad: Pakistani security authorities said Tuesday that nine militants were killed in security operations in the country's southwest.
According to Qatar News Agency, local police reported that the operations were conducted following intelligence reports indicating the presence of militants in the Ziarat, Harnai, and Surab districts of Balochistan province. Security forces engaged with members of the groups, resulting in the deaths of nine militants and the seizure of weapons and ammunition. Police added that clearance operations continue in these areas and other parts of southwestern Pakistan.
The latest operations occurred just two days after Pakistani authorities announced that 17 militants had been killed and others wounded in two separate military operations in the same region.
