Palestinian Vice President and Turkish Foreign Minister Address Key Issues in Palestine

Doha: Palestinian Vice President Hussein Al Sheikh discussed, in a phone call Tuesday, with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, the latest developments in the Palestinian arena, the issue of visa denials to the Palestinian delegation to the United Nations, and ways to garner international recognition of the Palestinian state during the upcoming international conference. The two sides also reviewed the catastrophic conditions in the Gaza Strip and the dangerous situations in the West Bank and Jerusalem, including settlement activity, settler violence, annexation attempts, withholding of clearance funds, and economic restrictions.

According to Qatar News Agency, the two sides affirmed the continued close coordination between the two countries to confront current challenges and enhance efforts at the international level, while stressing the need to keep the peace conference in New York as scheduled on Sep. 22.
