Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HH the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Thani have sent cables of congratulations to HE President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, to mark Ukraine's Independence Day. Additionally, HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani extended his congratulations to HE Prime Minister of Ukraine, Serhii Koretskyi, on the same occasion.
According to Qatar News Agency, HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani also received a written message from HE President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan. The message focused on bilateral relations and explored ways to support and develop them further. Meanwhile, HE Minister of Public Health Mansoor bin Ebrahim Al Mahmoud met with HE Director General of the GCC Health Council, Suleiman bin Saleh Al Dakhil, who is currently visiting Qatar.
On another front, HE Minister of Municipality, Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiyah, held a meeting with HE Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to Qatar, Faisal Ali Ibrahim. In other developments, HE Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Ahmed bin Hassan Al Hammadi, inaugurated the "Sard" platform. This platform is designed to monitor news and events, including content published on social media platforms in various languages.
Acting General Manager of Qatar Chamber, Ali Bu Sharbak Al Mansori, reaffirmed the Chamber's commitment to supporting Qatari entrepreneurs. Emphasizing their importance, he mentioned that entrepreneurs are key in driving economic diversification, fostering innovation, and accelerating Qatar's transition towards a knowledge-based economy. The State of Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, is currently participating in the 17th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification, taking place in Mongolia's capital city.
Efforts to combat cybercrime are also underway as Doha hosts a workshop on preparing the Gulf Strategy to address Cybercrime and AI-Related Crimes. The Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) announced Qatar's high ranking in the Information and Communication Technology Development Index, securing the sixth-highest score among 159 economies assessed by the International Telecommunication Union. Additionally, the Qatar Financial Center reported a 37 percent rise in firm registrations in the first half of 2026, reflecting Qatar's appealing business environment.
Qatar Chamber took part in the Sahel Tech Innovation Challenge in Burkina Faso, focusing on Artificial Intelligence Solutions for Africa. MATAR, the Qatar Company for Airports Operation and Management, joined the Transport Taskforce of United for Wildlife. The Social and Sport Contribution Fund signed an agreement with Aman to support rehabilitation programs for victims of violence.
Qatari Diar and the Qatar Olympic Committee signed a cooperation agreement to strengthen joint sports and community initiatives.
