Nagoya: HE President of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani actively participated in several key events on the sidelines of the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026. The events included attending a reception hosted by the Japanese Olympic Committee, chairing a meeting with presidents of the National Olympic Committees of Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean, and visiting the Athletes' Village alongside HE President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Kirsty Coventry.

According to Qatar News Agency, HE Member of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Olympic Committee Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al-Thani met with several of team Qatar's female athletes at Bayt Qatar in Nagoya. The meeting aimed to support and encourage the athletes participating in the games.

In other events, the State of Qatar condemned acts of aggression including the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Houthi group's targeting of Riyadh with a ballistic missile, emphasizing its commitment to international law and humanitarian principles. Meanwhile, Qatar and the International Committee of the Red Cross signed a Memorandum of Understanding on mediation and humanitarian action.

Qatar's involvement extended to international forums and councils, with participation in the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies meeting in Moscow, the Committee of Senior Housing Officials of the Gulf Cooperation Council via video conference, and the 43rd session of the Executive Committee of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union in Cairo.

Domestically, Qatar's Public Prosecution organized a specialized training course on juvenile justice, and the Qatar Media Corporation participated in the Arab States Broadcasting Union's Executive Council session in Tunisia. Additionally, Qatar's handball team and athlete Abdulrahman Moustafa marked significant achievements in their respective events at the Asian Games, further showcasing Qatar's active participation and success in international sports.
