Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Planning, Muhammad Tamim, confirmed today, Sunday, that the general census of population and housing will be carried out on the specified date on the twentieth of next November. A statement by the Ministry of Planning stated that the Minister chaired a meeting, which included the two undersecretaries of the ministry, the head of the Statistics and Geographic Information Systems Authority, the National Census Advisor, the heads of the field work and information technology sectors, and a number of experts and advisors. During the meeting, the Minister was briefed on the latest developments and field procedures conducted by the Statistics Authority, in preparation for conducting the general population and housing census on the twentieth of next November. Tamim directed, according to the statement, to provide all the technical and logistical requirements for training researchers who will conduct the packaging, numbering, and inventory operations in all parts of Iraq, and for the employees of the Ministry of Planning to devote themselves to the entire census project. For his part, the head of the Statistics Authority, Dhia Awad Kadhim, reviewed the position of the training plan for researchers in all governorates, the completion of satellite images, and the ongoing preparations to launch the numbering and inventory operations after the end of the training phase.
