Doha: Under the patronage of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, Doha will host the 6th World Conference on International Arbitration on November 3-4.
According to Qatar News Agency, the conference is organized by the Qatar International Center for Conciliation and Arbitration (QICCA) at Qatar Chamber and will be held under the theme "ADR in a Changing World: From Judicial Oversight to AI". HE Sheikh Dr. Thani bin Ali Al-Thani, Vice Chairman of QICCA and Chairman of the conference's organizing committee, stated that hosting the sixth edition of the World Conference on International Arbitration in Doha highlights Qatar's position as a leading regional and international hub for dispute resolution. It also reflects Qatar's commitment to supporting and developing alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mechanisms in accordance with international best practices and standards.
His Excellency noted that the conference is part of ongoing collaboration with the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) as an organizing partner. The event also enjoys support and active participation from several prominent international and regional institutions, including the World Bank's International Center for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA), the Oman Arbitration Center, and the Cairo Regional Center for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA). This wide-ranging institutional participation underscores the significance of the conference as a pivotal platform for arbitration, dialogue, and the exchange of expertise in alternative dispute resolution.
Sheikh Dr. Thani highlighted that the conference theme echoes the rapid developments in arbitration, conciliation, and mediation in the region. These advancements underscore the necessity for continued international dialogue on the future of ADR and its capacity to adapt to legal and technological changes.
